NorthLight Foundation is supporting innovative approaches to resilience in targeted rural communities. NorthLight’s resilience investments are prioritized in Maine, where the Foundation is funding efforts to build capacity of partners, support innovative solutions, and educate and inform the public and decision makers through robust resilience storytelling and communications.

Maine Labor Climate Council

The Maine Labor Climate Council, a fiscally sponsored project of Maine People's Resource Center, brings together labor and environmental leaders to advance equitable climate solutions that create good jobs and strengthen Maine communities.

NorthLight Foundation is supporting to pilot an effort to organize with residents of two mobile home communities toward increased energy resilience.

Maine Office of Community Affairs

The Maine Office of Community Affairs was established by the Maine State Legislature in 2024 to assist municipalities, Tribal governments and regional planning organizations in building a more resilient future.

NorthLight Foundation is supporting stipends for those with barriers to attendance for a resilience summit, to develop a toolkit for municipal capital investment planning and energy resilience, and to create an economic resilience report with a focus on economic resilience in rural and under-resourced communities and regions in Maine.

The Town of Stonington serves its residents by providing municipal services while fostering a resilient, vibrant, and sustainable coastal community.

Colby’s Center for Resilience and Economic Impact is an interdisciplinary research-and-action center in Port Clyde, Maine working to help Maine’s cities and towns build and strengthen their resilience to adversity and develop plans to foster thriving communities.

Maine Conservation Alliance builds support and momentum for policies that address the ongoing structural and societal changes needed to equitably tackle climate change, protect the environment, advance racial justice, and safeguard our democracy.

Telluride Foundation

The Telluride Foundation is committed to enriching the quality of life of the residents, visitors and workforce of the Telluride region. The Foundation does this by development and supporting initiatives and making direct investments that maximize benefit to all, nurture self-reliance and create meaningful change.

NorthLight Foundation is supporting the most urgent needs of the Foundation in consultation with Northlight staff and board, including and not restricted to encouraging additional donors for a second Forever Telluride campaign.
